COVID Policies for upcoming HvZ Events

Hi everyone! We’re so excited to see y’all at our upcoming Squid Game and Ragnarok Week Long Game. In anticipation of these events, we wanted to clarify our COVID policies for these HvZ games. If you are coming to the game from anywhere in Florida, you must either present a completed COVID vaccine card or a negative COVID test from within 5 days of the start of the event. If you are traveling from outside of Florida you must present a negative COVID test from within 3 days of the start of the event, regardless of vaccination status.

For our Ragnarok Week Long Game, the start of the event is defined as the day you pick up your bandanna. For in-town players, this will be the in-person rules meeting you attend, when you are given your bandana and BrainID. For out-of-town players, this will be either Friday night or Saturday morning, when you pick up your bandannas and BrainID from the moderators.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to message us through the website or on our Discord or Groupme.

See you soon,

Gator HvZ Mod Squad

Fall Event Schedule

For anyone who missed our post-game meeting this past Sunday, here’s a look at our planned Fall event schedule! The exact dates and times for the events are subject to change, but these are what we’re planning on!

If you’re new to Gator Humans versus Zombies, we run two different styles of events. HvZ games, like our Lock-Ins, Day Games, and Main Games, are a game of Nerf Tag where zombies try and tag humans to convert them into zombies while Humans defend themselves with Nerf blasters as they attempt to complete objectives. PvP Days and our Skirmishes are Player versus Player Nerf Battles in which individual players or teams battle for victory in game modes like free-for-all, team deathmatch, capture the flag, and more!

Finally, if you’re interested in joining our moderator team this semester for our PvP days or the Main Game, fill out a Moderator Application this week at the link below! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf1aoVx6VFuSRdcLo245x3XO728wNJaHoUtOH7QMJdvASLhbg/viewform

You almost escaped…

Thank you, my children, to everyone who came out to our Escape the Underworld lock-in game this weekend!

Throughout your quest into my realm, you’ve proven yourself to be truly courageous heroes. We hope you had a wonderful time at the event. Welcome to the armies of Hel!

Now I’d like to make you one last deal: head to https://forms.gle/fvtNcUcH7fB1sBwC8 to complete our post-game survey and I will then use your responses to create more exciting events for you to enjoy (please only fill out the survey if you played in the event). We’ll be holding a post-game meeting this weekend in the Reitz Union to go over the feedback from this survey in more detail and to play some games as a community (board games, jackbox, etc.) More information about that meeting will be announced soon on our Discord, Groupme, and social media. Additionally, if you’re interested in joining our mod team to help design and run future games, fill out our moderator application here: https://forms.gle/dWuFskbX58r6ssx1A.

To keep in touch with me, our moderators, and your fellow players, you can join our Discord server at https://discord.gg/cUM8Q9BzWe or our GroupMe at https://groupme.com/join_group/61777197/ZU4FNk8y.

Finally, we believe our safety guidelines made for a safe event; however, if you do receive a positive test result within the next week let us know so we can conduct contact tracing.

We hope to see you at future events! – Hades, Lord of the Dead

Calling all Landlubbers…

If you haven’t already, make sure you sign up for our HvZ on the Seven Seas weekend game! It begins next Friday at 7pm, and has mission at midnight, 1pm, and 7pm on Saturday. If you’ve never played HvZ before, it’s like a real life video game, where players fight to survive in a zombie apocalypse with nothing but their wits, Nerf blasters, and rolled-up sock grenades. You get to experience an evolving story with NPCs and cutscenes, solve riddles and puzzles, and participate in optional scavenger hunts and extra objectives for in-game rewards and power-ups. The game takes place across all of UF campus over about 26 hours and is an absolute blast. If you’re on campus for Summer B, or are able to get up here, even if just for Saturday, we’d love to fight against the zombie hordes with you!
